Get Outta My Way (Boys) – just a fun tribute to Kylie!

I am struggling a tad to find the words to comment here. I think this video lacks something. Perhaps the director should have featured some celebrities keen to participate in doing a jig in this MV. Some well-known footballers like Mr. Tevez and Mr. Ferdinand would be my preferred option – providing that they are not too busy pounding one another for hours/days, etc. on end. Having them as part of the video would be a nice touch. There is no doubt that Kylie would be delighted and proud of this tribute from these boys.

I just can’t stop writing songs about you…

Hearing this song makes me want to jump into bed with anybody and hold that person in my arms, as well as wanting to be inside that person and vice versa. I just cannot stop listening to this song as I love it so much. Thanks to Prince for this lovely song.

A single man; man without a girlfriend

“I’ve had people come into my life, but they’ve always just come and gone.
There’s no one in my heart now.
No matter how much of my love I give to someone.
What happens is always the same as before
I always end up just being hurt.
I must be so unlucky, it’s like I’ve been cursed to always end up disappointed when I meet someone.
Please let it be you who will release me from this curse, I’m desperate to find love.
I want to be someone’s, I want to have someone be mine.
Even to have someone possess this heart of mine.
I will keep on giving my love, I will take care of you well.
If you can stop me having to endure being someone like this.
A man without a girlfriend.
Maybe I’ve been very unhappy in the past, but I don’t think I did anything wrong.
I’m ready to love and not scared of being hurt again.
Because I’m confident in the things I say and the things I do.
they are always sincere…but
I must be so unlucky, it’s like I’ve been cursed to always end up disappointed when I meet someone.
A man without a girlfriend.”

Oh my god, this Thai pop song is a super classic. It is a Thongchai McIntyre’s song. I have not listened to it for years. It is still good lyrically. If you are still single (โสด), this song suits you pretty well and you should get the t-shirt like the ones they are wearing in the music video to display your hopelessness in love. I would love to get one myself, but unfortunately, I do not think the โสด t-shirt will be appropriate for my circumstances, if you know what I mean.

Thanks to the person who posted this Youtube video with the English translation of the song.

My teacher liked Suede and so did I

One of the Thai teachers who taught me at college often loved to engage in conversation with me about Britpop. He was aware of the fact that I had been listening to and reading about British bands such as Blur, Pulp, Ash and so on. It did not come as a surprise when he asked me if I had been listening to Suede as well. This teacher of mine liked the band a lot. He was a Suede aficionado. He even had a Brett Anderson haircut. When my friends and I wanted to slag him off we would often refer to him as our Brett. Once, if I remember correctly it was a ‘Saturday Night’, we saw him and his alleged boyfriend, who was also teaching us at the college, dancing together in a nightclub to one of Suede’s songs: ‘Trash’. Our Brett did not realise that we were there. Camp as he was at that time, he demonstrated his moves effeminately. We could not help laughing when we saw him doing a jig. He looked ridiculous but in an amusing way.  Some people just cannot help being dedicated to the thing they most like and so was the case with my teacher.

I also liked some of Suede’s songs. I would repeatedly listen to ‘Trash’, Beautiful Ones’, ‘She’s in Fashion’ and ‘Everything will flow’. Listening to these songs brings back some of my gleeful memories. They revitalise my youth and I feel ever ‘So Young’.
