Reuters risk watch for Thailand

Reuters’ analysis of the political, social and economic risks currently affecting Thailand: http://graphics.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/Risks/Thailand.pdf  and risks to watch in all Asian countries: http://blogs.reuters.com/andrew-marshall/2010/08/10/risks-to-watch-in-asia-country-guides/

Very informative.

That is a pretty spot on analysis of the situation in Thailand!
Friends in Thailand speak of the atmosphere being like a truce, everyone is waiting for the general election. My friends in Bangkok are split down the middle, yellow/red.

    • Thailand is going through a period of pain socially. People have been living for years in discontent. Almost everybody seems to be wanting his or her own way. Nobody seems to be listening to anybody else. “My voice is more important than yours”. This way of thinking is archetypal of a puerile society; it has not yet quite grown up. Be that as it may, I think people are learning from this unhappy experience and eventually they will find a way to please everyone. But it will take time.
