Just a Thai person living in a Farang land who wants to try to write about matters of interest as categorised in my blog. I will do my best to compose in English, but as a foreigner, I must apologise for my incompetence in English. Please bare with me. Read this little blog as it is; don’t take it to heart if my messages offend you.

The name of this blog has no particular meaning to me. It just happened to come up in my mind.

    An intriguing profile.

I’ve been reading the blog and trying to figure out… male/female, Thai/farang.

So a Thai ‘person’ then. Genuine, sensitive… I’ll take a punt on female. I’ll have another read and maybe change my mind.

Girls can like books and cars too.

Must be in UK… reference to fifty pounds spent on books.

    Student? Where? What subject?

    English impeccable… so law?

You can’t buy and caress my novel, “Thai Girl” as it’s mainly sold here in Thailand. It’s on the web but maybe you can wait until you get back to the Suvarnabhumi. And maybe MY THAI GIRL AND I too.

I clicked on you from http://www.whatismatt/top100 as my site THAI GIRL is next to yours so that’s how I found you .

    Chok dee khrap!

You seem to have an ongoing interest in the social structure and situation in Thailand and how it relates to the large “night entertainment” area of the Thailand economy and especially how it relates to the hundreds of thousands of workers in this industry, in all their various roles, who mainly come from the poorer Thailand provinces, hoping to find more money and a better life in Bangkok.

There is a very interesting blog called Khi Kwai which is written by a guy with a Ph.D. from Harvard in Cultural Studies/Political Science. He makes many detailed connections between the Thailand social structure and situation of the workers in the “night entertainment” area. A bit brutal to read, but the Thailand economic and social area he is de-constructing is, in fact, more than a bit brutal, especially for the workers involved……….

Here’s the link which you might want to add to your Thailand Blogs list: http://www.khikwai.com/blog/
